I'm planning to buy a 2nd hand 2-sty terrace house. I agreed with owner to buy it with RM380k (original price from developer is RM235k + more than RM200k interior renovation done by this owner). But bank record show that house only worth RM245k. Should I ask bank to send valuer to re-value the house?

CK,
Certain banks are conservative but the difference in value is not much. In your case it appears that the bank may not have considered the renovations done as the valuation price of RM245k is close to the developer's price of RM235k (4 years ago). Then again it depends on the location of the property that you are buying. Either you seek another bank's opinion or a valuers opinion by emphasizing the renovations done. All the best Read More

CK,
Bank usually does not give much value on the interior renovation compare with the extension.Look like it is better to seek an opinion from a valuer before u commit on d house. Read More
