Hi, im sorry for your trouble. First you need to check the agreement that you have made with your Agent, if it's stated refund will be make in 2 weeks, you can ask your lawyer for the follow up. For your precaution next time, make sure you appoint a trusted Agent with REN(Real Estate Negotiator) number, or else you will be dealing with a broker. if you have any inquiries, feel free to contact me ; Your Trustee Realtor En Shah 017-265 7503  *Please leave a message if your call is not answered* I am happy to assist your enquiries related to any property matters. Firstly, you need to establish who does this salesman, Douglas works for? Is he an agent or negotiator for a real estate company contracted by the developer to sell their properties or is he directly the developer's sales staff.
Secondly, review the copy of the contract that you have signed and paid the booking fee to check whether the cooling period of 2 weeks whereby the booking fee is refundable is stated in the contract.
If he is with an agency, you may contact the principal of the agency to claim for the refund failing which you may file a complain of misrepresentation to the professional governing board www.lppeh.gov.my
If it is the developer, you may seek a refund directly from their management failing which you may file a complain with the Ministry of Housing & Local Government www.kpkt.gov.my
