My tenancy contract ended and I had returned the house keys to the house owner but she insist that she want to hold half month deposit and use as house cleaning fees. What should I do?

Find out how much is the house cleaning fee and suggest that you hire the cleaner to do the cleaning at that cost or request the Landlord to deduct that cost only. If it is not provided in the tenancy agreement contract that the Landlord should retain half month deposit for house cleaning then the Landlord is not allowed to do so.
