Foreigners ownership of properties are regulated by the respective local state authority depending on the value of the property. In Selangor, foreigners are not allowed to be registered as owners for landed houses unless stratified and the value of the property is above RM2 million (currently there is a concession by the govt to reduce to RM1.5 million value). In the Federal Territory, the value is RM1 million and above for both strata and landed residential properties. The exception is if the property is willed and inherited from their parents. Do check this out with a lawyer. Read More
