Will property prices in Johor Bahru appreciate in time to come ? What are the chances of success for Iskandar projects ? JB property market has been lagging behind KL and Penang for the last 10-15yrs ... Is it worthwhile investing in JB,since prices are still cheaper compared o KL and Penang ? Anyone has any views on this ?

Johor Bahru is the next progressive state after Selangor/WP and Penang. Johor is a large state with low population density which partly contributes to it being lagging in demand.Other issues were related to conservative state policies and poor perception on security issues, abandoned projects etc. Moving forward, it seems that the state policies are more liberal and security issues are being addressed by the Malaysian Govt. in a proactive manner. Having said that for businesses and properties to thrive, we need high population, more so with purchasing power to sustain. This is where the M'sian Govt has to create a compelling reasons to attract not only Singaporeans but the global population and businesses to be in Johor. The trend shows that potentially Johor Bahru or nearby vicinity are good with 2 major ports flanking it. Already some major M'sian developers, Singapore investments and overseas investments are already seeing this potential.
