Jinjang is a town located in Kepong, in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. Jinjang is separated into North Jinjang and South Jinjang. Jinjang got its name from a pig brought to Malaya by a Chinese merchant in the 19th century before Malaysia was officially formed and it was believed to bring prosperity. The town was established as part of the Briggs’ Plan enforced by the British during the Malayan Emergency to relocate the ethnic Chinese in Malaya to isolate them from communist influence. Neighbouring Bandar Menjalara, Jinjang is a well-established residential neighbourhood with a variety of different residential projects.
Jinjang is highly accessible by a network of main roads and major highways such as the Kesas Highway, Selayang-Kepong Highway, Jalan Lang Emas and Jalan Kuching.
