Teluk Kumbar is a suburb located on the East Coast of Penang Island in Bayan Lepas. Teluk Kumbar was named after the Salak trees that grew within the area. Teluk Kumbar was founded in the late 18^th century and was an agricultural town that was one of the handful of autonomous Malay settlements in the region.
