Batang Kali is a city located in Hulu Selangor. Hulu Selangor is a large district located at the north of Selangor, separating Selangor between Perak. Ulu Yam is a town that is located close to Batang Kali. Batang Kali acts as a gate for those that plan on travelling to Genting Highlands. As part of its history, it is remembered as the location of the Batang Kali massacre which happened during the Malayan Emergency period in 1948.
