Jenjarom

Jenjarom is a small town located in the Kuala Langat district of Selangor. Predominantly a Chinese town, Jenjarom started out as an agricultural village and was part of the Briggs Plan during the Malayan Emergency in the 1950s. There is also some industrial activity as well as palm oil production in this area. In the more recent times, Jenjarom has gained quite a following and is quite a well-known tourist spot in Malaysia. Jenjarom is easily accessible, has plenty of amenities and is definitely worth a visit.

Although it is a small town, Jenjarom is not only eaily accessible but also well connected to its surrounding areas as well as to the other parts of Selangor via main roads and major highways such as Jalan Kampung Jenjarom, Jalan Klang Banting, the South Klang Valley Expressway, and the North – South Expressway Central Link. There are also several bus stops nearby including the LG 167 Teluk Panglima Garang (Selatan) bus stop at Jalan Klang Banting. As there are tourist attractions here, taxis are not hard to find.

There are numerous schools at Jenjarom including primary schools such as Sekolah Kebangsaan Jenjarom, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Jenjarom, and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Tamil) Jenjarom and secondary schools such as Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jenjarom. Victoria International School (Banting) is the closest international school located about a 15 minute drive from Jenjarom. There are also many kindergartens and child care centers at Jenjarom including a well known Smart Reader Kids branch, a Q-Dees branch, Tadika Puncak Seri (Jenjarom), and Aik Kuan Kindergarten. The availability of these child development centers makes it convenient for families with children here at Jenjarom.

While the bigger shopping malls are a bit further away, residents of Jenjarom are still able to get all that they need without worry at Econsave Jenjarom and Tesco Extra Jenjarom. There are also plenty of other smaller supermarkets and grocery shops in this town such as the Megah Supermarket and Departmental Store. There are also numerous restaurants and eateries that service the community here are reasonable prices such as Restoran Sin Kim Leng, New Double Day Seafood Restaurant and Restaurant New Shiang Sze Lou. A large number of the restaurants here serve Chinese cuisine. Other amenties here at Jenjarom include clinics, pharmacies, hair salons, places of worship, banks and ATMs.

The main tourist attraction here at Jenjarom is the Dong Zen Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple, which houses the Lumbini Garden. This temple draws a large number of visitors to this town. There is also an art gallery at Jenjarom which showcases the origins of Buddhism as well as several tea houses for visitors to have a relaxing time. In addition to this, there is a bustling night market every Thursday night selling all sorts of things including fresh produce, vegetables, food and beverage, clothing, toys, small electronics and plenty of other items.

Properties at Jenjarom are leasehold but it is still definitely worth considering. Property here is ideal for individuals and families as well as for those who want to invest in the property market.
