Standing at 41 storeys high, this towering condominium is inspired by the tallest and mightiest living tree in the world, the Sequoia Sempervirens. Together with Inwood Residences, they form a part of the Pantai Sentral Park (PSP), a joint venture between IJM Land Bhd and Amona Group of companies.

According to their developers, PSP is Kuala Lumpur’s first and only urban forest city envisioned with people, planet & priority at the core of its integrated development. Furthermore, the development is located next to a 200-acres forest reserve on Bukit Kerinchi, where it aims to be a liveable city amidst the forest through the integration of eco-friendly practices and environmental preservations. And within the 58 acres integrated township, there will be seven residential phases and six commercial phases where you will co-exist with nature.

The first of its residential phase, Inwood Residences, has already been fully booked since its launch in August 2014 via e-balloting. The response was overwhelming and many had complained due to the lack of opportunity to acquire the property. Nonetheless, Secoya Residences is now available for preview and there are even some discounts and prizes provided to you if you register early.

Project Details

If elegance and class is what you seek, then this place might just it. With high grade floorings such as engineered woods and homogenous tiles, Secoya is lavishly designed and comes with wide frontage and windows that provide an extensive view from its living spaces. Not to mention, it also incorporates the shallow floor plate design which maximises the penetration of light as well as energy saving.

Every residential phase in PSP has its own unique set of facilities and amenities. For Secoya, it includes the lifestyle pavilion, gym, sunken sundeck, Infinity edge swimming pool, Jacuzzi, wading pool, BBQ area, multipurpose hall, reading room, games room, saunas, basketball court, children’s playground, reflective pond, fitness station, performing plaza, amphitheatre, party lawn, adventure trail, yoga deck, the lake, cascading waterfall.

Secoya facilities

There are 3 major floor plans for each level in Secoya and they are Type A, B and C. Starting at 1,050 sq. ft. is its smallest unit, Type A, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is one of the most sought after units, besides Type B. Having said that, Type B comes with 3 different sizes ranging from 1,360 sq. ft. to 1,460 sq. ft. And unlike Type A, they are more spacious and have an additional bedroom and a toilet. However, the largest and most premium units are the two Type C variants. They both come at 1,670 sq. ft with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

Secoya Main attraction

Another special feature of Secoya is that all of its units only faces two general directions- the city view to the north and the forest view to the south. Of course, the units facing the South are typically more expensive as they are larger and have a more alluring nature view. Besides, they are the only units with balconies, apart from Type B2.

Location

Secoya Map

Talk about Secoya Residences and one of its key selling points would be its prime location. Strategically positioned in Kerinchi, it is at the centre of Klang Valley’s golden triangle, making it highly accessible to other areas such as Bangsar, Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. What’s more, with Mid Valley Megamall located just 2km away, shopping is a breeze and a major convenience.

In terms of getting to Secoya, there are actually several ways to do so. Firstly, if you are coming from Subang Jaya or Sunway, just head towards the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and exit from the Pantai Dalam Toll Plaza. Once you have passed by the Indah Water Sewerage Treatment Plant, Secoya is just within minutes away.

Alternatively, if you are from Kuchai Lama, NPE is connected to the North-South Expressway (NSE) via the Salak Link as well.

It is also expected that in 2018, IJM Corporation Berhad, the operator of NPE, will be finishing its construction of a RM50 million ramp where it will provide an alternative route that connects Subang and Sunway directly to PSP without having to drive through the nearby sewerage and villages.

Meanwhile, for those who are driving from Damansara or Mont Kiara, you can use the Sprint Highway and Kerinchi Link to get to Federal Highway. From there, just head towards Jalan Kerinchi and Jalan Pantai Murni and you will find Secoya nearby.

Otherwise, you may also consider using other major highways and roads such as LDP, KL-Putrajaya Expressway, MRR2, Jalan Templer and Jalan Pantai Dalam to get there.

nexus

Once you have entered the Kerinchi / Bangsar South neighbourhood, you will be able to notice two highly unique and distinct lifestyles. On one side, you have the ultra-urban enclave of Bangsar South while on the other side, lies the remote villages and squatters of Kampung Kerinchi.

In contrast, just right beside Bangsar South, you will find the existence of several rather detestable and unsightly “kampungs” and low cost flats. However, there are many cheap Malay and “mamak” hawker stalls around the area. So, it could actually be a blessing in disguise instead, especially if you are looking for cheaper alternatives. It is also worth mentioning that the Kerinchi neighbourhood has just recently undergone a drastic transformation, largely thanks to the massive integrated property development projects by UOA Holdings Berhad.

Pantai Hill Park Entrance

Moving along, you will also find the renowned Pantai Hill Park Township to appear right before you drive deeper into Secoya Residences.

Just by mentioning the name Pantai Hill Park and you will immediately feel a sense of awe and excitement as it is synonym with prestige.

And it is truly admirable indeed as the Mediterranean-styled condominiums sit atop of the Pantai Dalam Hill, commanding a bird’s eye view of the surrounding areas.

If you turn left before entering the arch, there are several F&B and retail outlets in the vicinity such as Domino’s Pizza and laundry shops as well.

In terms of affordability, IJM’s Secoya is priced relatively lower that it’s neighbouring rivals such as UOA’s South View and Suez Domain’s KL Gateway Premium. Unlike its competitors, it also features an additional carpark and a unique recreational park at the 200 acres Bukit Kerinchi forest reserve. While it is just being compared to these two offerings, there are actually many other high-rise residential units within the vicinity as well such as Nova Pantai by Malton Berhad. What’s more, most of them are selling within the cheaper price range of RM750–RM900 psf.

IJM Land is the main developer for PSP and they are no stranger when it comes to property development and construction. Being one of the most prestigious local property developers, they boast a respectable portfolio that consists of townships, luxury homes, high-rise residences, offices and commercial properties in Malaysia, Vietnam, China and even the United Kingdom. Some of their notable developments in the central region include Debunga Residensi, Bukit Mandra’rina, Ampersand, Shah Alam 2, Riana 3, Serene Heights and Seri Riana.

In recognition of their excellences, IJM Land has also been awarded with both local and international accolades such as the MSWG-Asean Corporate Governance Industry Excellence (Property) Award, FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards, BCI Asia Top 10 Developer Awards (Malaysia), International Property Awards (Asia Pacific) and Putra Brand Awards.

Meanwhile, Amona is the joint developer for PSP whom had successfully completed a number of commercial and residential developments, mainly through strategic partnerships with State Government agencies. They are currently in partner with IJM Land, Ranhill, Worley Parsons, Technip, HP, GDP Architects and many more.

Summary

Being just the second residential phase in PSP, there are plenty of room for other residential and commercial developments around Secoya. Although it may have been located further away from the major roads and public transportations, Secoya provides its residents with higher value of privacy and serenity. Besides, it has positioned itself as a safe, pedestrian friendly and nature-centric development, with its all-round pedestrian access, bicycle tracks, lakes, green connectors & boulevards and linear forest walk.

That being said, the master planned development of PSP should not be likened with any other locations because it is well planned for retirees with a lot of open spaces. So, if you are going to buy a unit of Secoya Residences, you can definitely plan to stay there until you’re old.

Night view secoya

Secoya Residences will excite you if you are looking for a classy place to stay with green surroundings. And with its close proximity to the affluent Bangsar South enclave, you will definitely find yourself living in a modern and contemporary lifestyle. Although it is located further away from the main roads, there are free shuttle buses to Mid Valley Megamall and the University LRT station from PSP. Not only that, the Pantai Dalam KTM Station is just a few minutes’ drive away, with the possibility of a new MRT station nearby. So, if you don’t mind the troubles and wish to be one with nature, then Secoya Residences is a good bargain at RM780 psf.
