Jelapang is a town located in Ipoh. Ipoh is the capital city of the Malaysian state of Perak. Jelapang stands for open field which is usually associated with paddy crops. However Jelapang is not a paddy field as the soil here is relatively high with laterite.  Jelapang is a complement for the growing city of Ipoh. Some of the restaurants that they can patron at is Restoran Seong Seng, Vellaidan Krishna Nair, Warung Jelapang Baru, Old Town White Coffee Jelapang Square and Restoran Fei Chai Yau. Jelapang is home to a number of local public schools following the national curriculum in both primary and secondary education. Thus parents do not have to worry about their children as some of the nearby schools are Yuk Choy High School, Tadika Methodist Jelapang, SMK Jelapang Jaya, Government-assisted religious schools Maahad Al-Imam ash-Syafiee and SK Jelapang Jaya.
