Putrajaya is a planned city and the federal administrative centre of the Malaysia capital. It was an idea that the previous Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, came up with and became the third Federal Territory of Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur and Labuan in 2001. Putrajaya is a beautiful city with vast options on open spaces. There are popular spaces such as Putrajaya Lake, Putra Square, Putrajaya Wetlands Park and Putrajaya Botanical Gardens. Putrajaya Botanical Gardens is the biggest botanical garden in Malaysia that covers over 92 hectares of land and a must visit when in Putrajaya as one can enjoy the variety of plants and trees in the park. Other attractions that one can enjoy while in Putrajaya Botanical Gardens are the hard landscaping that includes a canopy bridge, a huge sundial, covered walkways and a large boardwalk. Putrajaya is famous for many things. Since it is a federal territory of its own, there are many places one can visit while in Putrajaya. Among the most popular public buildings and monuments located in Putrajaya are the Perdana Putra (office of the Prime Minister), Palace of Justice, Istana Darul Ehsan, Heritage Square and Putrajaya International Convention Centre. Putrajaya also homes monuments such as the Millennium Monument, Putrajaya Landmark and National Heroes Square. Visitors can enjoy a bustling day and then relax in the night as they enjoy the city’s night view.
