Mak Mandin is a small town which is in the northern part of Malaysia in area of Butterworth, in the State of Penang , Starting off as one of the earliest industrial estate in Penang, it has grown to become home to Mak Mandin Industrial Estate. It is located on the northern side of the Perai River facing the Seberang Jaya Industrial Park. As a residential estate, the properties that are developed there included landed terrace houses and apartments. In the industrial area, there are factories that produce various types of items from food such as oatmeal to electrical parts and components. Using the Butterworth – Kulim Expressway (BKE E15) to reach Kulim and the Kulim Industrial Park, then linking to the adjacent North – South Expressway, you can enter the Penang Bridge Highway (E36). Alternatively, you can take the ferry to cross over and disembark at Sungai Dua, Penang. Mak Mandin is also well connected to the Penang International Airport that is just 30 minutes away. For those who prefer the cheaper travel by train, the nearest train station is at Bukit Mertajam Train Station which is just half an hour’s drive away.
Being a small town and industrial area, attractions in Mak Mandin are found mainly outiside the town area. Nature lovers can relax and rejuvenate among lush greenery at the Taman Pandan Park, Taman Tungku Park, or have an adventure exploring the Bukit Mertajam Recreational Forest. For families who love the sun and sea, they can head on to enjoy a day out at Bersih Beach . Alternatively, play a game of golf at the nearby Penang Golf Club. Those who are more inclined to the arts and culture scene, there is the option to to enjoy a day out are to visit the Art Walk in Butterworth, Penang Street Art, Peranakan Mansion, and Penang Little India.
Although a small town, shopping, food, amenities and other entertainment are quite easily available in Mak Mandin and around in the neighbouring suburbs. International schools and universities are available in nearby areas such as Jit Sin High School, GEMS International School, Open University Malaysia, Seberang Prai Learning Centre, and also UiTM. Other options available on Penang Island within half an hour drive away are Wawasan Open University, MSU College and University Sains Malaysia (USM).
