Sungai Pelek is situated in Sepang, Selangor. The main trades of its people include farming, bird nest collecting and brick making as its folk make use of what is around them. It also has mangrove forests and plantations of rubber, dragon fruit and palm trees along with coffee. Their natural landscape does the community good in the tourist department as well, for example through its Multi-Rich Pitaya Dragon fruit Farm. Although the area is predominantly Chinese, it has places of worship that cater to various faiths other than the assumed Taoist and Buddhist temples. A mosque, a Methodist church and a Hindu temple are present. Although the latter is located further away from Sungai Pelek, closer to the area of Teluk Merbau where there is a larger number of Indians.
Other villages that surround the area include the Malay dominated area of Bukit Bangkong. Being extremely modest, the area boasts an unlikely amenity. It is just a mere half hour away from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and the Sapang International Circuit, a major racing track. It also has the Bagan Lalang beach nearby. Educationally, the town has sufficient schools to take care of all its younger residents, even equipped with an English school, the Methodist English School. The ways to get there, although a little tricky, is to cruise down the ELITE and KLIA Highways.
