Johor is one of the thirteen states in Malaysia located at the southern-most portion of Peninsular Malaysia. The Straits of Johor separates the south of Johor from Singapore. The state capital city and royal city of Johor is Johor Bahru. Formerly known as Tanjung Puteri, the old state capital is Johor Lama.

Laksa Johor, Mee Bandung Muar and Nasi Beriani Gam are some of the popular local dishes of Johor.
