Pantai Hill Park is a parliamentary constituency in south-western
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Constituencies adjacent to Pantai Hill Park are Seputeh, Segambut and Bukit Bintang. Malays make up the majority of voters in Pantai Hill Park electorate at 52% followed by the Chinese at 26%, Indians at 21%. One of the more popular areas which come under Pantai Hill Park constituency is Bangsar, a popular upmarket residential and entertainment area. Bangsar is administered by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) unlike other townships in the Klang Valley such as Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya which have their own municipal councils. Neighbourhood residents’ associations and business councils play a part in communicating with the local authority but they exercise no legal or administrative power.
Pantai Hill Park is well linked to the major destinations within the Sungai Buloh exit by some main roads such as New Pantai Expressway, SPRINT Expressway, The New Klang Valley Expressway – (NKVE) and the Damansara-Puchong Expressway making it easy to go to neighbouring suburbs such as Puchong and Damansara. It brings much convenience to the residents here for accessing the basic needs no matter is for leisure, educational, shopping and healthcare needs, all can be accessible easily. When speaking of public transportation, there many buses that can bring to places you wish to go to and other than that, there is also an LRT station on Rapid KL’s Kelana Jaya is Located in Bangsar. Abdullah Hukum, Kerinchi and Universiti LRT stations are also located nearby. Bangsar is a five minute away drive from KL Sentral, a major transportation hub in Neighbouring Brickfields.
The Bangsar Sports Complex has a swimming pool, a multipurpose hall with badminton courts as well as squash, tennis and basketball. Prospin Tennis management is based here.There are several parks and playgrounds scattered around, namely those at Jalan Bangkung, Jalan Rumpai, Jalan Terasek 7, Jalan Tempinis 5 and Jalan Kurau. The Kilat Stadium is in Tenaga Nasional’s grounds. The Kuala Lumpur Hockey Stadium is near Jalan Pantai Baharu, next to Universiti Malaya. It was the venue for the hockey events during the Kuala Lumpur Common Wealth Games in 1998.
Education wise, Pantai Hill Park is also pretty well equipped as there quite a number of schools you can choose from to send you kids to and the distance is not that far as well. Some of them are Sri Dashmesh International School, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Tamil) Bangsar, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bangsar, Beaconhouse Newlands Early Years Bangsar, Kinderland and Julia Gabriel Centre Kuala Lumpur. In emergency cases, residents and tourist can always visit any of the clinics that are in the area as well as there is a number of clinics provided as well. Some of the clinics are Poliklinik Bangsar, Klinik Sharani, Klinik Family Care, Clique Clinic Bangsar,Premier Clinic and Klinik Mediviron.
Pantai Hill Park is a very beautiful and well-developed place that has a lot to offer to its residents as well as tourists. Since Bangsar is pretty modernised, most amenities can be enjoyed in this neighbouring city. There are shops located in this area making it easy for residents and tourists to do their daily shopping for groceries. Some of them are BabaDona Supermart, Village Grocer (Bangsar Village), Jaya Grocer ( The Gardens Mall), TMC Bangsar, Pasar Mini Bangsar and Bangsar Mart. Restoran Mahbub (known before as Restoran Sharifah), which has been operating since 1974 in Lucky Garden, is famous for their Nasi Briyani Ayam Madu (Honey Chicken Briyani) and a wide array for dishes to accompany the nasi lemak that they serve. Devi’s Corner which is located at jalan Telawi 2 is famous for authentic Indian banana leaf rice. The prices are reasonable. Roadside hawkers usually open in the evenings and close late at night. There are many 24-hour Mamak and banana leaf restaurants. It is usually acceptable for one to patronise these joints and order only drinks, except during busy hours. Chinese kopitiam and seafood restaurants meanwhile are a little harder to find outside Lucky Garden.
