Taman Mutiara Barat is part of Cheras, a famous township and district within Kuala Lumpur. It is flanked by the Jalan Lingkaran Tengah 2 (MRR2) highway offering quick access to various parts of Kuala Lumpur, and Jalan Cheras, and the SALAK highway. The East – West Link Expressway, also known as the SALAK highway allows connection from Federal Highway in Seputeh to Taman Connaught in Cheras. Taman Mutiara MRT station is just right outside of Taman Mutiara Barat, which is situated on the MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang line. This station runs along Jalan Cheras and serves Taman Segar on one side, and Taman Mutiara Barat on the other side.
Health and relaxation is very important especially living within the busy heart of Kuala Lumpur city. Famous cafes include The Brew House in Eko Mall Cheras, Station One Signature. Cheras Plaza offers entertainment in the form of Neway Karaoke, and Tai Thong Restaurant for great sit-down dinners. Other malls nearby include Cheras Leisure Mall, Eko Cheras Mall, Cheras Sentral Mall, and furniture and lifestyle giant IKEA Cheras, where one can easily find an abundance of luxury and upmarket shops, restaurants, cafes and entertainment in one central convenient location.
Parents have variety of choices of national schools nearby, such as the SK Taman Sri Muda 2, Sri Murni National School, and St. John’s Institution and Victoria Institution. International schools include Taylor’s, Vikas, Alice Smith, Sri Sempurna International School, Cempaka National Schools, and Beaconhouse Newlands International School. Universities within walking distance include the UCSI University, and the United Nations University, all which are within 15 mins drive away.
