Malaysians are showing confidence and positivity in owning a property even as the COVID-19 pandemic spills over into 2021. Findings from our recent Consumer Sentiment Study show that government initiatives of reducing the Overnight Policy Rate and re-introduction of Home Ownership Campaign have helped further boost the buying intention. However, with Malaysians facing higher job uncertainty, many now risk having their loans rejected as banks tighten their lending norms.
