Keramat is large township located in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur. Keramat is located northeast of downtown Kuala Lumpur and borders the Ampang district in Selangor. Keramat is officially known as Kampung Datuk Keramat but there are still locals that prefer to refer to its old name. It is a township with a majority of Malay occupants and the Klang River that runs from the northeast to the west of Keramat acts as a natural divider between the township and Ampang. Since Keramat is a township with a majority of Malay residents, one can find great traditional Malay dishes that hail from states such as Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Johor. Residents and visitors should try dishes such as laska Kedah, mee rebus Johor, laksam, asam pedas (Melaka) and masak lemak cili padi (Negeri Sembilan). Residents who opt to cook their own dishes can get their groceries from supermarkets in the area. Jaya Grocer @ The Internark Mall, Pasaraya Afia Mariam Supermarket and Giant Supermarket Setiawangsa are among the many supermarkets in the area that one can frequent to obtain their groceries from. There are well developed medical facilities in the surrounding area of Keramat that residents can make use of. There are hospitals and clinics readily available to tend to any emergencies that are to occur. Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Hospital Ampang Putri Kuala Lumpur are among the few medical facilities in Keramat. Keramat is a large township that has a growing population.
