Tasek or otherwise known as “Kampung Tasek” is situated in the northside of the town of Ipoh, Perak . Tasek is also close to Kampung Tewas, Becham and Tambun . Most of the residents that live here work in a nearby area known as The Industrial area of Tasek. This industrial zone has been there for quite sometime as well and it is similar to the zone’s in certain part of Malaysia such as Sungai Way in Petaling Jaya and Bayan Lepas in Penang Island. Those who use the PLUS highway can sure see the cement factory that is in the Tasek Industrial Zone. This cement factory uses limestone from the hills that are nearby that area as a foundation and this factory was built in 1962. There is also a railway track from the factory to transport the cement in the north and south of Perak. This railway track has been interrupting the traffic in Tasek for quite sometime making traffic heavy. That is why there is an overhead bridge that was built to make traffic smooth and to also allow the transportation of cement to be smooth.
The old interatate Route 1 connects Tasek with other major town and cities in peninsular Malaysia, for example Alor Setar and Penang to the north and Tapah , Kuala Lumpur , Seremban and even Johor Bahru in the south. There is also another way to travel to places using highways and one of them are by using the North-South Expressway (PLUS). Other than that, there are also trains that can allow you to travel to places. There is also an inter-city bus terminal located at Amanjaya Intergrated Bus Terminal in Bandar Meru Jaya.
Tasek is situated in a where it is close to Ipoh and this makes it a very strategic place as there are many things that you can do in this place. There are theme parks that you and your family can visit during the holiday and spend quality time as well. Some of the theme parks that are there are, The Sunway Lost World of Tambun, this place is listed as one of the biggest theme parks in Malaysia therefore if you travelling here it would be great to make a stop there. Other than that, there is the Movies Animated Park Studios, this theme park is also very fun filling as well.
Tasek is a very beautiful and well-developed place that has a lot to offer to its residents as well as tourists. Since Tasek is pretty modernised, most amenities can be enjoyed in this neighbouring city. There are shops located in this area making it easy for residents and tourists to do their daily shopping for groceries. Some of them are Ipoh Grocery Store, Pasar Mini Nila, Pasaraya Save and lastly The Store. If you are not a person who cooks or if you don’t have time to cook, there are a few places as well where you can grab food from. Some of them are Restaurant Naina Mohamed, Roti Canai Pak Su Tasek Ipoh, Hong Kong Oil Chicken and Roast Duck and Kok Thai Ipoh. Besides having a diverse choice of food, Tasek has many other facilities that is easily accessible for visitors and residents.
There are also many historical places for you to visit during your stay here or if you have moved in but haven’t had a chance to visit, here are some of the places for you to visit. Some of them are Kellia’s Castle, Perak Cave Temple, Tempurung Cave, The Banjaran Hotsprings retreat and Sam Poh Tong. Education wise, Tasek is also pretty well equipped as there quite a number of schools you can choose from to send you kids to and the distance is not that far as well. Some of them are Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jalan Tasek, SK Tasek Damai, SK Tasek, SK Tasek Damai and Lake National School of Philanthropy. In emergency cases, residents and tourist can always visit any of the clinics that are in the area as well as there is a number of clinics provided as well. Some of the clinics are Poliklinik Tasek and Surgery, Klinik Medione Tasek, Klinik Che Wan, Klinik Safri & Hamimah and Polyclinic Lee & Lee.
