USJ, or UEP Subang as it is officially known, is an affluent township located in Selangor. The area was developed as a continuation of the completed Subang Jaya township, creating a fresh new residential opportunity in this popular area.

The first wave of USJ property was completed in 1990, and since then the township has expanded to 27 individual neighbourhood sections within the wider scope of the UEP Subang suburb. The major commercial areas can be found at USJ 10, otherwise known as USJ Taipan, and USJ 9 Subang Business Centre, while USJ 1 represents the primary retail hub. Industrial areas are found in USJ 1 through to USJ 8, as well as USJ 19, with residential areas making up much of the remaining property in USJ.

Da Men, 19 USJ City Mall, and Main Place Mall represent other popular malls located throughout the area, with a combined offering that includes a great range of retail outlets, eateries, and entertainment opportunities for residents.

At the other end of the local retail and entertainment offering lies Sunway Pyramid, just outside USJ in the nearby Bandar Sunway neighbourhood. This extremely popular and busy mall offers a huge range of retail outlets, as well as arcades, ice rink, bowling alley, and cinema. It’s also connected to nearby Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, one of Malaysia’s most exciting family adventure parks.

Those looking for a more relaxing outdoor family experience will enjoy the variety of parks dotted around the USJ neighbourhood. In fact every residential neighbourhood in USJ was designed to provide landscaped parks, recreational fields, basketball parks, jogging tracks, and children’s playgrounds as part of the suburb’s unique lifestyle offering.

The township’s shopping malls offer a large variety of food and cuisines to enjoy, with food courts like that at Da Men mall proving particularly popular with residents. Areas such as USJ Taipan, or USJ 10, provide another focal point to the local food offering, with a range of delicious hawker foods alongside a variety of modern dining and restaurant outlets.

USJ is a suburb that is well served by local supermarkets and hypermarkets throughout the neighbourhood. Giant Hypermarket in USJ 1 offers a huge range of groceries, household goods, and everyday staples. Mydin Wholesale Hypermarket is another popular choice in the USJ 1 area, with a massive selection of products alongside a post office and food court. Jaya Grocer provides a more compact neighbourhood supermarket, with standard groceries alongside a substantial stock of international brands. Pasaraya Borong Matahari is another neighbourhood supermarket option, located at City Mall in USJ 19.

Alongside public schools for both primary and secondary education, USJ is conveniently located for a number of top international schools. Fairview International School, Kingsley International School, At-Tamimi Islamic International School, Sunway International School, and GEMS International School are just some of the private institutions within easy reach of USJ. The neighbourhood is also home to SEGi College Subang Jaya, a respected higher learning institution offering a wide range of courses and qualifications

Connectivity is a serious plus point of the USJ neighbourhood. While some modern developed townships lack public transport links, USJ boasts a number of connections to key routes throughout the Klang Valley. USJ 7 LRT, Taipan LRT Station, Wawasan LRT Station, and USJ 21 LRT station provide multiple access points to the Kelana-Jaya LRT Line, with connections to KL Sentral and onward national rail services. USJ is also served by a number of Rapid KL bus services, as well as enjoying access to the unique Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) Sunway Line, with connections to Bandar Sunway. The BRT can be accessed via stops at USJ7, providing interchange with the USJ 7 LRT, as well as at USJ 1 by the Mydin hypermarket.

USJ is well positioned for access to several major highway routes that run through the Klang Valley. The Federal Highway, New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), and New Pantai Expressway (NPE) are all easily reached from the neighbourhood. Journey times from USJ to downtown KLCC can be as short as 15 minutes in good traffic. Recent infrastructure developments are underway to help alleviate the worst areas of congestion around access to KESAS in particular. These extremely good road links also mean residents of USJ can access KL International Airport in as little as 30 minutes, and nearby Subang Skypark airport in just 15.
