Hi Mr. KC Ngu,

Currently, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that hit Malaysia, it has propelled the government in introducing certain exemptions on RPGT. There are a few requirements to be met as follows to be entitled to such exemptions:-

(a) the property must be a residential home;
(b) the sale of the property must be from 1st June 2020 to 31st December 2021; and
(c) this exemption in only limited to the disposal of 3 units of residential property per individual.

Residential property for the purposes of RPGT exemption includes a house, a condominium unit, an apartment or flat, serviced apartment and small office home office (“SOHO”) which is used only as a dwelling house.
