A private college, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, is also homed in Tanjung Bungah. Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital, a private establishment specializing in cancer treatments, and the Penang Adventist Hospital are also located here. Local entertainment which Taman Bungah is known for are water sports and live-music entertainment at local establishments. Two swim clubs are located in this area too; the Penang Swimming Club and the Penang Chinese Swimming Club. The Penang Swimming Club houses an Olympic-sized swimming pool, organizes aquatic sports classes, regattas, as well as sailing tourneys. Other local conveniences include banks, a post office, temples, and a wet market.
