Taman U-Thant is an affluent and prestigious district that is nestled along Ampang Hilir, Kuala Lumpur. Established in the 1960s, Taman U-Thant was named after the former United Nations secretary general, U Thant, who served from 1961 until 1971.With the hefty price tags attached to the affluent location, it remains one of the most exclusive and hottest addresses in Kuala Lumpur city centre and is located approximately 10 to 20 minutes away from Petronas Twin Towers. Apart from that, most of the houses here are luxurious bungalows with large gardens.  Taman U-Thant can easily be accessed from Jalan Tun Razak via Jalan Ampang and Ampang Hilir. Besides, it is also reachable from Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR 2) via Jalan Ampang or via Desa Pandan. By accessing these roads, we can then access other highways like SMART Highway, AKLEH Highway and KL-Putrajaya Highway.

Public amenities can be easily accessed within a stone throw away from Taman U-Thant. is very well located and thus amenities are aplenty nearby. There are shopping malls, food courts, education institutes, parks, health care, banks, recreation clubs and even places of worship just a mere minutes’ drive away. The parks in close proximity that is a great place for nature lovers and those who are fitness conscious to go to are KLCC Park, Taman Tasik Ampang Hilir, Ampang Park, Taman Cempaka Playground and Jelatek Public City Park as there are plenty of activities that they can do there. There are a few malls in Taman U-Thant such as, The LINC KL, Ampwalk (Ampang Walk), Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Great Eastern Mall and Suria KLCC where residents can do their shopping. One of the biggest advantages for families are the schools that are located nearby, like Sayfol International School, Beaconhouse Newlands Early Years Ampang, SMK Puteri Ampang, SJK (C) Nan Kai and SMK Seri Ampang which are easily accessible to the residents in the neighbourhood. Since Taman U-Thant is in Kuala Lumpur, there are no shortages of pubs and bars where residents can enjoy their nightlife. Places like SOULed OUT Ampang, Healy Mac’s, Tapas Bistro, M Bar and Beach Club Cafe are all just a few minutes’ drive away. Clinics close by are Clinic Sng Kim Hock, Klinik ICON, Pama Medical Cosmetology Clinic, Ghealth Clinic and ALPS Medical centre where residents can go to in case of medical emergencies.
