Sri Petaling is a suburb located in the south of Kuala Lumpur within the constituency of Seputeh. Sri Petaling is bordered by other towns such as Kuchai Lama, Happy Garden and Bukit Jalil. Sri Petaling was launched in 1977 first before being developed in 1981. The town was previously a rubber plantation estate before being transformed into a playground and car park area for the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

The population of Sri Petaling grew when two routes of access were opened to neighbouring suburbs which were Salak Selatan and Happy Garden.
