Jalan Ampang is an affluent neighbourhood in Kuala Lumpur. It is also a major road in Kuala Lumpur and home to an affluent international community and embassies. Jalan Ampang was built in 1880 and is one of the oldest roads in Klang Valley. Jalan Ampang is also popularly known as Embassy Row for its many embassies along its stretch. Jalan Ampang is also home to numerous medical centres offering world-class facilities such as Gleneagles Hospital, HSC Medical Centre and KPJ Ampang Puteri whilst there is also Prince Court Medical Centre, Sunway Medical Velocity, IJN and Kuala Lumpur General Hospital, all of which are within a 10km radius.
Embassies along Jalan Ampang are Embassy of Russian Federation, Royal Thai Embassy, Embassy of the State of Qatar,Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Embassy of Finland and Embassy of Ireland, to name just a few. Other embassies are Embassy of the United States of American, Embassy of Japan, Singapore High Commision and Embassy of Indonesia are along nearby Jalan Tun Razak.
