Such a grand modern marvel

Tropicana The Residences is among the fastest and latest destinations for those who are looking for a great investment in the property market right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. One just cannot stop from raving on how strategic the location is and how it gives great access to amenities that are located nearby. This is the heartbeat of the nation.

The residences will occupy 30 floors that begins at 24th floor right on up to the 53rd floor. Despite sharing the building with W’s hotel guests, please be rest assured that residents will have their own private and separated entrance. The entrance is located adjacent with KLCC. Parking will not be a hassle here.  There are designated floors for residents to park their vehicles, which include Basements level 1 to 4 as well as level 7 of the tower. Meanwhile, facilities at level 53 are only accessible and opened to the residents. Likewise, facilities located at W Hotel are only for its in-house guests.

The progress has been great

The views are indeed breath-taking. There would definitely be iconic modern marvels await the residents here. This include Suria KLCC itself, Kuala Lumpur Tower and the new MATRADE centre, KL Metropolis that soon to be hailed as the ‘International Trade and Exhibition City’ of KL. Like any other developments, the best view would come with a price! For more affordable units, buyers can opt units facing Jalan Ampang, which consists of office buildings that would not overshadow nor become an obstruction to the residential and hotel development.

All units here come fully furnished. Buyers do not have the options of purchasing the units as partially furnished or unfurnished. The main reason is to create a synergy between W Hotel and Tropicana The Residences. Thus, buyers should be opened to the concept and interior before agreeing on purchasing any units here.

The general Types here consist of Type A with one bedroom (from 710 sq.ft. to 728 sq.ft.) , Type  B with two bedrooms (1006 sq.ft. to 1399 sq.ft.) and Type C with three bedrooms ( 1560 sq.ft. to 1604 sq.ft.)

The bedroom still provides ample of space despite a huge bedframe

Type A is indeed the selling point of Tropicana The Residences. While some other serviced apartments would focus on bigger space and more rooms, Tropicana The Residences is opting to scale down the size in making the units more affordable.

Its one bedroom unit is delightfully done! Despite being the smallest unit here, smart storage seems to do the trick for the developer. The master bedroom’s closet is accessible on both sides of the living area and bedroom itself. It also has several layers of rack, covered with sliding panels in order to shield from the eyes of home guests. The kitchen fits the bill of a simple yet modern kitchen. Additional to that, electronical appliances will be from the likes of Bosch. Some tweaking will be made to the selection of furniture as the developer is planning to update them to a more trendy and appealing designs.

Meanwhile, Type B provides an extra room in comparison to the in-demand Type A. Its master bedroom is huge and spacious. The concept is tastefully planned and executed. As for the first room, it is in a commendable size. The developer will be providing a reasonable sized bed that fits the room without cramping it. Fear not, it won’t be a sofa bed! As mentioned, everything will be provided and this include the blinders for all windows in the units.

Location

A backstory on Tropicana The Residences’ location.

bok house pininterest

The rustic manor of Bok House(Source www.pinterest.com)

The development is built where Bok House, a rustic 1920s manor used to nestle, closely located to  Zouk’s old location. Bok House was an old mansion owned by the Bok family that was built in 1926 and the design was made by Swan & Maclaren. By 1960, the mansion was turned into an upscale French restaurant, Le Coq d’Or and was later closed in 2001.Indeed. Such backstory of the development would give colours to Tropicana The Residences. It could be a turn of legacy as one profound landmark is taking over from another.

Suria KLCC welcomes you with arms wide open

Tropicana The Residences provides the essence and heartbeat of the KL life. What greater area to call a place home but here. Amenities and touristy places are within minutes! Don’t even bother to take a cab down to town as walking would suffice when one resides here.

tropicana site 3IMG_4855

The distance between KLCC and Tropicana The Residences

This where you can hear hearts beating hastily and pulses running high among hardcore shopaholics. This is the hub of shopping as anything and everything can be found within this shopping haven. Suria KLCC is obviously located nearby. Residents could walk there within five to seven minutes to indulge in some retail therapy while building up their credit cards debts.

From Suria KLCC, shoppers can make their way to Pavilion and Bukit Bintang areas for more retail therapy! No woes in getting there as residents could walk along the covered walking pavement that goes through KLCC and KL Convention Centre with its connection ends right at the doorsteps of Pavilion.

W Hotel will be nestling here too

Indeed, such convenience is an added bonus due to the fact that Tropicana The Residences shares the same tower with one of the most anticipated international hotel chains , W Hotel by Starwood Hotels. This will attract tourists from all over the world. Thus, this is a goldmine for residents of Tropicana The Residences in benefitting the enjoyment of Malaysia’s tourist alluring locations.

Besides neighbouring the country’s famous malls, the development is also neighbours to several office buildings to top companies in KL. PETRONAS Twin Towers as mentioned earlier and Exxonmobil are a 5-minute walk. The area can be considered as a banking hub with various banking head offices located nearby. This include Menara BSN and Menara Public Bank that are located along Jalan Ampang.

tropicana site 5IMG_4835

Howdy neighbour! A timid looking BSN is the development’s next door neighbour

Presumably, there would be a huge number of international folks nestling here at Tropicana The Residences. It would be good to know that embassies such as High Commission for Pakistan and Denmark Royal Danish Embassies are within an immediate reach along the stretch of Jalan Ampang. For other popular embassies, US Embassy, High Commission of the Republic of Singapore, French embassy and Embassy of Japan are located along the roads of Jalan Tun Razak, which is five to ten minutes away via driving.

tropicana site 4IMG_4838

Offices along Jalan Ampang

The residences’ immediate neighbour is BSN’s credit card centre, which is not mighty in height and stature, thankfully.  Meanwhile, Wisma Dredging, which is the home to several international offices that include Regus, Cornerstone, Al Radjhi Bank as well as British Council is Tropicana The Residences’ immediate front neighbour.

Reality do bites. Living centring a metropolitan city like KL do have its qualms and headaches. Just brace yourself for massive jams here! Living along the roads of Jalan Ampang that is well connected to Jalan P.Ramlee, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Jalan Sultan Ismail and even Jalan Tun Razak is a sign for massive jams.

Imagine the intensity of the bottleneck jams from morning till late nights and even on the weekends! Yes, we do acknowledge that the trains here are up to speed but there will be times that you need to commute out with a car or a cab and such jams would be inevitable. Mitigating the jams here at times would come to a dead end given the massive frequency of vehicles commuting here regularly.

The surroundings of the development can be hectic, honestly. This city centre does have a bit of a downside as this area is known for road closures during national, corporate and even international events.

As for future developments, there are a quite a few on-going projects at the moment and even in the pipelines. This include Ritz Carlton Residences, STAR Residences and Aria Luxury Residences that are currently in construction stage.

Zouk is on the verge of transforming into a high-rise development

Meanwhile, there are a few empty plots surrounding Tropicana The Residences and there will be developments mushrooming soon. This include Angkasa Raya with 64 storeys high and redevelopment of Zouk’s old location into another high-rise development with 65 storeys.

Summary

This could be a great investment given how established the area is and how it could attract potential tenants within a heartbeat. The visibility of the building is tremendous especially when the residential property is accompanied with a well-known hotel. Both establishments could feed on each other’s strengths and appeals.

Branding is crucial. Both Tropicana and W Hotel have strong branding power. Thus, the development itself would definitely be a success. Given the available units left that might amount to less than 20%, it definitely proves that Tropicana’s brand is simply massive in both local and international markets.

Being fully furnished could work either ways. On a positive note, you could just move in with your luggages. No other preparations are needed. Hassle free. But on a not so great note, everything would looked equally alike, leaving no room for personal touches. In the end of the day, it goes back to the matter of personal preferences, really.

A great catch with immense potentials!
