Dear Guru, Recently I want to sell my Resident house in Tropicana Cheras. Agents told me that my house selling price need to impose 6% GST.

ACcording to the GST knowledge I had learned. GST is not impose on the Residence and Algriculture land.

I am getting confuse why those agents told me I need to pay for the GST.

Additonal info: I'm not a GST register.

I believe what he is referring is his GST on his commission. Most Real Estate agency are registered for GST and you will have to pay the GST for the commission but not the house. Please contact me if you have more question. http://www.ren-property.com Read More

This is the correct way to explain the 6% GST: Easy example, we eat at restaurant and the restaurant collects 6% GST and submit to government. Same theory apply to property service, we appoint agent to market our property, the property agency collect 6% GST from us and then submit to the government. Cheers! Read More
