The JMB of my condo refused to reduce the amount of management fee regardless that we cannot use most of the facilities (pools, jacuzzi, gym, badminton court) since mco in March. they even took away the rubbish bin at the lift areas at all floors. that should mean less cost for maintenance isnt it? appreciate if i can get a feedback. Thank you.

Not being able to use some of the condominium facilities does not mean that the facilities built and provided for does not need to be maintained at all. There are many other standard services such as security and cleaning etc that still need to be done besides mainatenance of lifts, equipments and facilities. In fact during pandemic I understand that the management may have to incur more costs to provide sanitizers etc and comply wth SOPs. Anyhow, as a unit owner you are entitled to review the annual audited report of how the management/maintenance fee and sinking fund collected are being used and whether there are too much surplus. Any collective decisions have to be tabled in the EGM or AGM by JMB. Read More
