Buyers turn to Rawang due to its attractive home prices as compared to Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, where home and land prices are high.

“Rawang has been ‘sleeping’ for many decades but now there is only one direction for the area – up… Considering that areas around Rawang, the surrounding developments like Selayang, Sungai Buloh and Bukit Beruntung have reached their respective fringes, it can only get better for Rawang,” said Derek Chew, director of DA Land Sdn Bhd.

The priming process has made property prices in Rawang attractive, making it the perfect destination for those searching for an “integrated lifestyle”, noted Chew.

Integrated lifestyle means a gated or guarded developments with amenities such as swimming pools, clubhouses, cycling or jogging tracks and parks. This type of developments abound in Rawang.

“The price of link houses starts from RM500,000 and all the way to RM1 million, which is perfect for buyers in the market made up of young people with high-income or those who are starting a family or looking for a safe and healthy environment to raise their families.”

Recently, around 80 percent of Rawang’s property investors come from other areas such as Subang, Selayang, Petaling Jaya, Sungai Buloh and Kepong.

Most people do not realise that Rawang is much closer to Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Subang, Bangsar, Sungai Buloh and USJ.

“It takes just 15 minutes to travel between Rawang and Petaling Jaya,” noted Chew.

“It takes time for the public to appreciate the convenience of Rawang as a location, but things are changing fast.”

With this, property prices in Rawang are expected to increase as buyers look to the area as a cheaper alternative to purchasing homes in Kuala Lumpur of Petaling Jaya, added Chew.
