Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd (KDEB) has agreed to extend Konsortium Abass Sdn Bhd’s Klang Valley raw water abstraction right for another three months.

Meanwhile, Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd told the stock exchange that KDEB had renewed the right from December 1, 2014 to February 28, 2015.

“The agreement also provides that KDEB may, at its own discretion, grant renewals for further periods of three months each,” said Kumpulan Perangsang which is a 57.88% unit of Selangor state government investment arm.

Kumpulan Perangsang owns 90.83% in Titisan Modal (M) Sdn Bhd, which in turn, has a 100% stake in Konsortium Abass.

In 2001, Konsortium ABASS was awarded a 30 year concession to operate and maintain the Sungai Semenyih Water Supply Scheme.

The Sungai Semenyih scheme implemented by the Selangor state government supplies clean water to South-West of Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Klang, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Sepang, Puchong, Seri Kembangan, Bandar Baru Bangi, Kuala Langat and the surrounding areas.
