MAPEX Penang begins this Friday

Due to the overwhelming response for MAPEX 2014, the event will be held for a second time at the Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition Centre (SPICE) on 26-28 September.

Jointly organised by Henry Butcher as well as the Real Estate & Housing Development Association (REHDA Penang), the exhibition will be participated by 16 developers.

They are SP Setia, Inspirasi Elit, Airmas Group, Asas Mutiara, Plenitude Bayu, Sunway Grand, Chong Company and Palmex Industries. Completing the list are Tambun Indah Land, Ideal Property Group, Ivory Properties Group, Eco World Development, Tropicana Macalister Avenue, MTT Properties & Development, as well as IJM Properties & Jelutong Development.

Aside from the special sales package offered at the event, experts will also take part in MAPEX 2014 to share their knowledge on the local real estate market.

For instance, Penang Institute’s CEO Um Kim-Hwa will talk about the state’s economic outlook, while Dr.  Christopher Shun will discuss the future of the global economy and its impact on Malaysia’s property sector.

Mortgage guru Michael Yeoh will provide housing loan tips, Attorney Lee Khai will tackle the latest laws and issues affecting strata-titled projects, while KPMG’s Raymond Chong will share much needed advice on how to deal with property taxes.

Henry Butcher Malaysia’s COO Tang Chee Meng will talk about the government’s existing cooling measures and whether it’s time to buy or sell, while its Senior VP for Penang Shawn Ong will explain the art and science of valuation.

Finally, PropertyGuru Malaysia’s Country Manager Gerard Kho will elaborate the changing behaviour of home buyers, while Attorney Lena Leong from M/S Zaid Ibrahim & Co will discuss the best practices concerning landlord and tenant relationship.

Furthermore, daily prizes will be given away and two local attendees have a chance to win a luxurious trip to Bali, Bangkok and Koh Samui valued at RM5,000 each.
