Samalaju Properties Sdn Bhd (Samalaju Properties) is developing the Samalaju Eco Park Township, on the back of expected increase in demand for commercial and residential property at the Samalaju Industrial Zone.

According to Ryan Jalla Ridu, the company’s senior marketing and product development executive, “The Samalaju Eco Park was born out of our vision to provide a balanced, healthy and sustainable lifestyle to the thousands working in Sarawak’s energy intensive and heavy industries.”

“The town has been developed with its future residents in mind, by firstly understanding the needs of the current and future community.”

Designed to receive minimal sun exposure but maximum air flow and daylight, the Eco Park was carefully positioned such that every home is just a short walk away from parks, recreational spaces and community amenities.

The 2,000 acre development is set to be completed within a period of five to 10 years.

Planned to cater to lifestyles of the future, the township is the first of its kind green township to feature a mix of residential and commercial developments. The Eco Park will progressively be enlarged to keep it updated with the evolving living trends.

Governing every phase of development is a set of mandatory guidelines on economic, social and environmental sustainability.

Residents of the township will get to enjoy easy accessibility to all their daily needs as the self-contained township will be fully-equipped. Bicycle tracks, tree-lined pedestrian paths and public bus and rail transport networks will connect homes to various amenities such as post office, parks, F&B services and recreational facilities.

Construction of the first 160 apartments has started, and is expected to be completed by Q1 2016.

Meanwhile, the townships’ commercial centre will feature a mix of shop-houses, markets, mix-use complexes and shopping centres that are centred on a canal system, with shops enjoying frontages of the canal and river walk.
