Gardenhill, a joint venture between Australia’s Beulah International and Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd, has been conferred with the ‘Game Changer of the Year’ award at the Annual REA Excellence Awards, beating some of most renowned property developers in Australia.
The Gardenhill development in Melbourne which is led by Beulah International an Australian developer that was founded by Malaysians, clinched the award for the project’s off-lead dog park – the first private dog park within a high-rise apartment project in Australia.
Notably, the ‘Game Changer of the Year’ award recognises innovation that solves a broader market issue, challenges the status quo and benefits the local community or industry.
Hosted by the REA Group – a multinational digital advertising business that specialises in property and operates the leading property website in Australia – the inaugural awards acknowledges the industry’s best innovators, marketers as well as community champions in the country.
Beulah International executive director Adelene Teh said she expects the introduction of an off lead dog park to encourage responsible pet ownership.
“With Australia having one of the highest rates of pet ownerships in the world, we realised many people find themselves in situations where they have to surrender their pets as they move into apartments that are not pet-friendly.”
She noted that Gardenhill’s private dog park enables residents to continue enjoying the company of their pet dogs.
“Our vision as a developer has always been to transform a project into something people will enjoy and something that will add value to their lives, rather than just use,” she said.
“We also want to deliver projects that will hopefully enhance and improve the surrounding area for many years to come.”
Commenting on the award, Chan Jiaheng, executive director of Fajarbaru-Beulah (Melbourne) Pty Ltd, said they were honoured to be recognised for the innovation and hard work.
“We are thrilled to be awarded for our Gardenhill development as it reinforces our vision of delivering projects that continually pushes the boundaries,” he said.
“The judging panel consisted of some of Australia’s most renowned individuals within the property sphere, so for them to give us credit is a huge acclaim for us.”
