Negeri Sembilan Wants ERL and MRT Services Extended to Labu

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has expressed that the state wants the Express Rail Link (ERL) service between KL Sentral and KLIA extended up to the upcoming high speed rail (HSR) terminal in Labu, Seremban.

Besides that, the state would also want the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line to be extended from Kajang to Labu, where the HSR station would be built.

“The motive for the suggestions are to provide a better connectivity for the people, as it will be convenient to travel back and forth from KLIA and KLIA2,” he said.

“This plan will assist in improving the public transportation across Negeri Sembilan, which will encourage the citizens to use public transportation at a larger scale.”

The HSR terminal will serve as an integrated transportation hub, and sufficient taxi and shuttle services will be arranged for the public, to link the hub with the surrounding areas.

At the same time, the state government is also proposing the development of a dedicated rail line to carry goods from Nilai to Port Klang, which will also pass through KLIA.

“Since Nilai will be developed into an industrial hub under the Malaysian Vision Valley project, a dedicated rail line to transport the goods is necessary to keep the cost low,” he further added.
