The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has enhanced its online e-Pengeluaran facility, allowing members to submit their online application to withdraw for housing and education purposes, reported Bernama.

The education withdrawal facility was the latest addition to the online service, right after the withdrawal for housing facilities previously. Now it has been further enhanced with an increased number of participating financial institutions.

“The e-Pengeluaran is EPF’s highly sort-after service that enables members with i-Akaun to submit their applications online, which saves them time as one don’t need to travel to EPF offices to make application,” said EPF Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations) Datuk Mohd Naim Daruwish.

“The number of withdrawal applications keeps on increasing, especially for housing withdrawals. Hence, we tried to simplify the process and reduce lead time for the withdrawal applications, which eventually led to the introduction of the e-Pengeluaran, he added further.

Since 2013, a total of 64,297 applications has been sent through e-Pengeluaran, with a total of RM32.35 million approved to date.

Currently, there are several financial institutions that have participated in the e-Pengeluaran, which includes RHB Islamic, Maybank, Bank Islam, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation, Bank Simpanan Nasional, AmBank, and United Overseas Bank.
