Binastra Land Sdn Bhd (BLSB) signed an agreement with AccorHotels to manage and operate a 4-star hotel in BLSB ‘s much anticipated mixed-used development at Jalan Sungai Besi.

This development is expected to be launched at the end of the year and slated for completion in 2020. The 56-storey hotel will consist 260 rooms and will be located next to the Southgate commercial centre and opposite to the old Sungai Besi Royal Malaysian Air Force Base (Bandar Malaysia development).

The four-acre mixed-used development will also feature twin-towers of serviced apartments and retail components. This freehold development has an estimated gross development value of RM1.3 billion.

“We are delighted to welcome Mercure-branded hotel to Peninsular Malaysia and to develop this exciting new project in Sungai Besi. We look forward to working with AccorHotels to inject more vitality in the vicinity,” said BLSB chief executive officer and managing director Dato’ Sri Michael Tan.

“Partnering with BLSB, the newly built Mercure Kuala Lumpur Trion will become another AccorHotels brand landmark in Peninsular Malaysia. Mercure brand offers an authentic experience rooted in their local community and the strength of the international network of more than 700 hotels in 56 countries, with a strong quality commitment and warm experience of the hotels,” stated AccorHotels (Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore) chief operating officer Garth Simmons.

According to BLSB property development general manager Steven Ooi Hock Ang, the development will be known as ‘Trion’. “Trion will be an iconic development with the tallest twin-tower residential building (66-storey) in Malaysia.”
