The Govt Wants to Hear You on the KL-Singapore HSR Project

7 Nov 2017

In a bid to get the people’s comments and feedback, the Malaysian government has launched a public exhibition for the highly-anticipated High Speed Rail (HSR) that will connect Kuala Lumpur with Singapore.

The public inspection started on Wednesday (1 November) and received over 400 positive responses during the first day of the event.

To run until 31 January 2018, the three-month HSR showcase is being held in 14 booths at the offices of the Land Public Transport Commission and at local councils in Johor, Malacca, Negri Sembilan, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

During the three-month period, the public can browse through documents and exhibits containing crucial info regarding the mega project, such as satellite images of the 350km-long rail line and the sites of the seven stations in Malaysia’s side.

People can also view other key information like land acquisition plans, the stations’ layout and features, technical data for the railway and socio-economic development programmes intended for the HSR hubs.

Aside from that, the authorities will place 29 roadshow booths in different shopping centres and public places between 15 November 2017 and 31 January 2018.

“The public inspection is an important platform for us to engage the public. This three-month period is crucial in ensuring comprehensive dissemination of project information and effective collection of feedback from the public,” said MyHSR Corporation Chief Executive Datuk Mohd Nur Ismal Mohammed Kamal.
