Melaka Housing Board has partnered with two property developers to build up to 801 affordable homes in Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah districts, reported Bernama.
According to Melaka chief minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron, PB Realty Sdn Bhd will build 648 affordable housing units worth RM116.64 million in Krubong, Melaka Tengah, while Mega 3 Housing Sdn Bhd will build 153 affordable housing units worth RM23.89 million in Kuala Sungai Baru 2, Alor Gajah.
Notably, all such units are expected to be completed in two to three years.
“The houses in Krubong are priced at RM180,000, while the units in Kuala Sungai Baru 2 are priced from RM135,000 to RM178,800, depending on land size and ownership status (bumiputera and non-bumiputera),” said Idris after the signing of the joint-venture agreements for the two projects.
“The main objective of these projects is to ensure that residents in the state would be able to own a house.”
Idris revealed that the Krubong project will include 1,482 mixed residential units, while the development in Kuala Sungai Baru 2 will also feature premium lots worth RM936,000 each.
To date, 9,784 units of affordable homes have been completed in Melaka while 24,355 units are still under construction.
