Sentul, a Property Hotspot Linked to Many Rail Projects

11 Aug 2017

Sentul is among the many areas in Klang Valley that will benefit from the upcoming rail projects, namely the faster rail link to the international airport in Sepang that will be connected to the highly-anticipated Singapore-Kuala Lumpur High-Speed Rail, reported the New Straits Times.

In particular, two property projects by YTL Land in the area — Sentul West and Sentul East, will leverage on new rail lines like the MRT.

Both developments are also being served by existing rail lines, such as KTM Komuter and two LRT lines, the one from Sentul Timur to Ampang and the route from Sentul Timur to Putra Heights. The Sentul KTM station, as well as the Sentul Timur and Sentul LRT stations are also located strategically within the heart of Sentul East.

According to YTL Land Executive Director Datuk Yeoh Seok Kian, Sentul enjoys direct access to the Express Rail Link’s KLIA Ekspress route and is only four stations from the KL Sentral transport hub at Brickfields through KTM Komuter. In addition, KTM Komuter and the two aforementioned LRT lines are linked with MRT Line 1.

“This further enhances Sentul’s accessibility by rail, making it even more popular among property buyers and investors,” he explained, adding that the area’s property market is expected to benefit from the MRT project.

Besides the fully completed MRT Line 1, which runs from Sungai Buloh to Kajang, MRT Line 2 from Sungai Buloh to Serdang and Putrajaya is anticipated to start operations by 2022, with Sentul being one of its stops.

Notably, MRT Line 2 begins from Sungai Buloh and will run through Sentul and Bandar Malaysia before ending at Putrajaya.

“MRT Line 2, which is currently under construction has added two more stations for Sentul, adding more value to our developments,” noted Yeoh, adding there is an MRT station at both the Sentul West and Sentul East projects.

Bandar Malaysia will also house the High-Speed Rail (HSR) that will connect Singapore with Kuala Lumpur. Through this, commuters can reach neighbouring Singapore in just two hours.

Furthermore, Sentul will benefit from the upcoming MRT Line 3, or the Circle Line, which is the final phase of the MRT project and is presently under the planning stage, he added.
