Mayland's Crown Jewel Of KLCC

The blight of traffic congestion on Kuala Lumpur’s citizens was again laid bare on polling day in May when most of the main arteries in and around the capital were gridlocked for hours. For many, traffic – whether they are stuck in it or discussing it – dominates daily life and it can often be easy to forget about the lush greenery in areas such as Kepong that surrounds the sprawling metropolis.

In an effort to alleviate the stresses of city living and reconnect residents with the nearby natural beauty, however, many developers are incorporating the aesthetics of the great outdoors into their latest projects. The strategically situated One Stonor by Malaysia Land Properties [Mayland] is one such residential development that leans heavily on green themes throughout its facade and public spaces.

The most obvious design element that adheres to this trend is the distinctive form that shapes the exterior, which is created by varying the shape, size and orientation of the balconies to represent the leaves on a tree. On a more literal level, One Stonor has been certified by GreenRE, one of the leading green entities in Malaysia, as a green building for its sustainable and energy-saving features.

“From our perspective, One Stonor is the crown jewel of our group,” Kevin Woo, managing director of Mayland Group of Companies, said. “We have quality materials, hot location, amazing design and architecture. The One Stonor will be the defining bold statement in the KLCC area.”

The 33-storey luxury condo project was duly recognised for its innovative design concept at the recent PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) gala dinner and awards ceremony.

“One Stonor’s towering tree-inspired design is a welcome concept that is brought to life by planned gardens on the building’s upper balconies,” the independent panel of judges noted. “It is certainly a strong statement of identifying with nature in an urban setting.”

Beyond the nature-themed exterior of Mayland’s flagship property, the interior impresses with an array of unique facilities to service residents at the 285 units. The elegant cigar and wine lounge is a nice touch, while the automated parking system and three-step security door access showcase the developer’s tech nous.

The price range also lives up to Mayland’s promise to deliver “affordable luxury”. Starting from MYR1.63 million, the units, which range in size from 771 to 1,142 square foot, are sure to be a hit with high-net-worth homeowners and investors alike. For its efforts in this department, One Stonor was also awarded a Highly Commended in the Best Luxury Condo Development (Klang Valley) by the Awards’ judging panel.

While the idea of eloping to greener pastures is unrealistic for many of KL’s citizens, those with the appetite – and funds to feed it – can find their very own urban oasis in the heart of KLCC.
