The government’s efforts to provide opportunities for Malaysians to own a home through the Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) 2019 is helping many realise their homeownership journey.
To further boost this initiative, The Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) Malaysia continues to support the Government’s campaign by organising HOC – MAPEX across the country.
While most property campaigns are centred around the Klang Valley region, Rehda took it a step further to showcase various properties in Ipoh.
Perak property seekers who attended the Malaysia Property Exhibition (MAPEX) 2019 in Ipoh from 19th April to 21st April 2019 at Ipoh Parade were spoilt for choices with over 53 booths at the recently held exhibition.
Among the properties showcased were located in Perak, Penang, Johor, Selangor and Cameron Highlands (Pahang).
Like MAPEX’s any other successful events throng by families and young professionals, everyone had a great time participating in the various activities lined up during the three-day event. There were various dance performances, orchestra presentations, colouring competitions and baking activities by Chef Siew.
The exhibition also unlocked some of many local talents where students of SMK Convent Ipoh performed a cultural dance during the opening ceremony alongside six other performances from various schools.
Aside properties on offer, the crowd was also educated with property talks by Charles Tan of Kopiandproperty.com with his topic of ‘When is the Best Time to Buy A Property’ and Vincent Lim of Goldfields Concepts Sdn Bhd with his focus on ‘Home Furnishing Ideas’.
On the last day of the event, three speakers from BLT shared their thoughts and experiences on the property market. Chris Tan spoke on ‘How to be a Smart First Home Investor Moving Forward’ while Richard Oon educated the crowd on ‘Financial and Tax Essentials of Buying Your First Property’ and Miichael Yeoh tackled the most important topic of the town, ‘How to Make Sure the Bank Lend to You’.
Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) Perak chapter chairman Tony Khoo said under the campaign, there were various incentives buyers could enjoy, including discounts and stamp duty waivers which will benefit individuals, especially the low- and middle-income groups to own a home while easing the country’s property overhang predicament.
Khoo added that those wanting to buy their first home should do so as soon as possible as under the campaign, residential units priced between RM300,000 and RM1 million would be exempted from stamp duties on the instruments of transfer and loan agreement.
Furthermore, Rehda said that as of March 19, incentives for home buyers who purchase properties registered under the HOC 2019 include stamp duty waiver for loan agreements for properties priced up to RM2.5 million, stamp duty waiver for Memorandum of Transfer (MoT) for properties under RM1 million and a reduction of 1% for properties priced RM 1 million to RM2.5 million to 3% from the current 4%.
Rehda concurred that MAPEX not only continues the Association’s tradition of providing a one-stop centre for purchasers to find their dream home but maintains the cooperation it holds with the Government for the Campaign.
The 6-month HOC campaign ending June 2019 is a platform for government agencies, private developers as well as financial institutions to promote their products and packages all under one roof.
Buyers will be able to seek advice and make an informed decision besides choosing from an array of property selections available in the market may it be completed or under construction properties.
