An approved agent for the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme revealed that the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) centre in the tourism ministry had been closed “until further notice”.
Andrew Davison, Chief Executive Officer of The Expat Group (TEG), said the closure seems to be due to a “major disagreement between the immigration and tourism ministries about the programme itself”, reported Free Malaysia Today (FMT).
In fact, no one is currently allowed to submit applications relating to MM2H visas, he said.
Davison said this cast doubt in the programme’s future, adding that “some people in government” were against it.

“As regards to MM2H visa holders stuck overseas, the MM2H centre has advised me that they will try and approve all the active cases by today,” he told FMT via email.
He noted that up until recently, new applications, as well as applications for transfer and renewal, were processed by a tourism ministry staff. They were then handed over to the Immigration Department in order that stamps may be placed on their passports.
“Now, it is not clear what will happen as there is no place to submit the applications.”
He also revealed that 90% of recent applications have been rejected, which was unprecedented.
“My agency had two rejections which we are confident would have been approved in the past,” said Davison.
