Petaling Jaya has always been a property hotspot since it first became a satellite city. Land is however scarce in this neighbourhood, especially within the prime locations. High rises are hence the chosen types of developments within the available areas. Here are some of the most desirable and awaited for new developments in Petaling Jaya.
Icon Residenz is a residential component of Icon City, located just off the Federal Highway. This skyscraper towers 40 storeys tall, and is designated to be the “pinnacle of Petaling Jaya’s grandeur”. Icon Residenz will be in good company, with a hotel, a central park, lifestyle shop offices and boutique offices in its surroundings. Public transportation is a key selling point of Icon Residenz, along with its great accessibility from both sides of the Federal Highway.
Trilight Residences is a much awaited for residential tower located in Section 13 of Petaling Jaya. The mixed development that it is a part of sits on land that used to house the Fraser & Neave (F&N) factory in Petaling Jaya.
Fraser Square is the company’s first foray into the property development industry, in a joint-venture between Singapore’s Frasers Centrepoint Ltd. a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fraser and Neave Ltd (Singapore), and Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd.
Lumi Tropicana sits on one of the last available plots of land close to the Tropicana Golf & Country Club. It is the first development to be launched in the Lumi Collection, which will have both residential and commercial components. Among some of the services offered in this serviced apartment are bellboy services, in-house keeping services and valet services. Lumi Tropicana is a development of Thriven Global, which was previously known as Mulpha Land.
Situated within a square of shop lots, Biji Living may be among one of the most awaited for development by locals. It is situated in the heart of Section 17, Petaling Jaya, on what used to be a morning market and open parking lot, where night times featured roadside Chinese hawker shops. The morning market still exists now, but is situated along the perimeters of the development instead while the hawker shops still open their shops on one of the lanes.
Section 17 is a popular area for its amenities and kopitiams which are heavily frequented by office workers and students during the afternoon lunch hours.
The Hub SoVo Suites in SS2 is going to feature 2.5-storey retail offices, and SoVo suites. Its selling point is its central location in Petaling Jaya, close to the commercial areas of SS2. The Hub will be one of the highest towers ever to grace the neighbourhood of SS2 at 44 storeys tall, and will look out over landed residential developments within its 2.52-acre plot of land. The double volume units here are priced from RM900 per sq ft.
Boulevard 51 is another commercial development that will be situated in a very central area of Petaling Jaya – adjacent to the Sungei Way Free Trade Industrial Zone in Petaling Jaya. Its exact location is behind the landmark Cycle & Carriage Bintang car showroom just off the Federal Highway. The closest residential development to Boulevard 51 is Park 51 Residency which is within a 5-minute walk.
