A group of home builders from Sarawak had visited Perth, Australia to gain knowledge on how property development is carried out there.
In particular, the Kuching Branch of the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (SHEDA) toured the Australian projects of Handle Property Group (HPG).
Founded in 2008, HPG is a fully integrated property firm that completes about 100 new projects every year. They also specialise in low-cost home and have sales offices in Malaysia, Vietnam, China and Hong Kong.
One of its latest projects is the redevelopment of a previous bottle factory in North Perth into a 125-unit housing project known as ‘The Bottleyard’ to commemorate the former premises.
Featured in the local news, these energy-efficient apartments allow plenty of sunlight and comes with cross-flow ventilation, ensuring warmth during winter and coolness during summer.
Aside from that, the SHEDA delegation toured other affordable housing projects like Lakelands Fairways, Red Castle and Peregrine Estate at Piara Waters.
Another notable project they visited was Rosehill Waters, Western Australia’s first private development that received the six-leaf accreditation from the Urban Institute of Australia’s (Udia) EnviroDevelopment system.
This is the highest possible eco-friendly rating from Udia, and takes into account six green criteria, namely water usage, energy efficiency, ecosystems, waste disposal, community and building materials.
