JOHOR BAHRU, 21 July 2017: To celebrate Hari Raya this year, UMLand held a Raya Open House event at the new Amari Johor Bahru hotel, which is part of the Suasana Iskandar development by the developer.
Up to 500 guests attended the event, including Johor chief minister Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin and UMLand’s board of directors, among them, chairman Tun Musa Hitam and executive deputy chairman Dato’ Ng Eng Tee.
During the evening event, UMLand Seri Alam executive director Freddie Lee presented a RM5,000 cheque to Pusat Anak Permata Negara Parlimen Pasir Gudang as part of the Group’s continuing corporate social responsibility initiatives.
UMLand group director of sales, marketing and communication & branding, Michael Cheng, also distributed green packets to some of the children from Permata.
The event had a “balik kampung” or back-to-hometown theme with traditional Raya foods, cakes and drinks being served. Guests were also treated to Malay music performances. UMLand has an annual tradition of organising “open houses” during festive occasions to promote the cultures and traditions of the various ethnic communities in Malaysia.
