What an iconic evening!
The 8th Annual PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final concluded Friday evening (9 November) in an exclusive gala dinner and ceremony held at the Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok in Thailand, which hosted the finale for the first-time in 13 years.
New World Development Company Limited from Hong Kong received the highest award of the year for Best Developer (Asia), besting fellow country winners from around the region. Vietnam’s SonKim Land Corporation won the Best Boutique Developer gong.
A total of 22 regional awards were presented, including the first-ever PropertyGuru Icon Award to the Filipino-Chinese tycoon Dr. Andrew L. Tan, chairman and CEO of three-time Best Developer (Philippines) titleholder Megaworld Corporation. Tan accepted the top award via a special message on video.
Fifteen markets from Sri Lanka to China competed at the largest Grand Final event of the Asia Property Awards to date attended by more than 500 guests, with developers from Japan and Australia making their debut at the ceremony.
H.E. Dr. Aladdin D. Rillo, deputy secretary-general for the ASEAN Economic Community, was the evening’s Guest of Honour. Jack Prinya (Thailand) and Issa Litton (Philippines) co-emceed the festivites, whilst Sunicha “Pare” Vejpongsa served as the Mandarin-speaking emcee.
