Malaysia’s finest developers of 2019 were celebrated at the sixth annual edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia), presented by global brand Kohler, in a landmark ceremony held on Friday evening (12 April 2019) at the historic Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
MRCB Land earned its first-ever Best Developer win, besting some of the country’s biggest real estate companies. JKG Land Berhad was named Best Boutique Developer, earning the accolade mainly for its work on the urban green project The ERA @ Duta North, which won the Best Mid-End Condo/Apartment Development (Klang Valley) award.
The black-tie affair presented 28 award categories to honour the Malaysian real estate sector’s most active and fast-growing niche segments, including Industrial/Logistic development. Around 500 senior industry figures and members of the press attended the gala ceremony, which was the biggest yet hosted in Kuala Lumpur by PropertyGuru. Tuan Hizwan, the Political Secretary to the Malaysian Minister of Housing and Local Government, H.E. Zuraida Kamaruddin, attended the gala dinner to support the shortlisted developers.

The country’s most respected real estate honours, the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) programme is highly regarded for its fair, transparent and credible judging system, which is supervised by the award-winning team of BDO, one of the world’s largest networks of accounting and auditing firms.
An independent judging panel deliberated on eligible nominees and conducted site inspections, chaired by returning head judge Prem Kumar, Executive Director of Jones Lang Wootton. Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Besar Seri Menanti, Tunku Ali Redhauddin ibni Tuanku Muhriz was the Honourary President of the panel.
