Ampang Jaya Property Owners Required To Update Records

2 Mar 2020

Ampang Jaya’s 170,000 property and landowners will all be required to update their records as part of this year’s review of assessment rates.

Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) is currently sending out notices and forms asking owners to update their records, which were last reviewed during the property rate adjustment exercise in 1997.

“We have to re-evaluate the value of properties and the relevant tax before we submit an application to the state government,” said MPAJ president Datuk Abdul Hamid Hussain.

The completed forms may be submitted either to MPAJ headquarters in Pandan Indah, through joint management bodies, councilors or village heads, or the Valuation and Property Management Department, reported The Star.

Aside from notices, Abdul Hamid added that inspections will also be conducted to get the latest information on owners and their properties.

It can be recalled that the Housing and Local Government Ministry directed all 155 local authorities nationwide last year to re-evaluate their assessment tax every five years.
