Tabung Haji: TRX Project to Feature the Next Iconic Design

29 May 2017

TH Properties Sdn Bhd (THP), a fully-owned subsidiary of the Pilgrims Fund Board or Lembaga Tabung Haji, revealed that its property development project in the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) will feature iconic and spectacular designs.

The RM900 million project, which will consist of a mix of apartment and serviced apartments as well as other commercial developments, is already in the final stage of selecting the design, reported Bernama.

“We have shortlisted three architect firms which are working closely with foreign associates to come up with the design… We want the architect companies to come up with an iconic and spectacular design,” said Datuk Azizan Abd Rahman, chairman of THP.

Azizan is optimistic the commercial development would receive overwhelming interest from clients as it is not only competitively priced but is also built according to their requirements.

“The main criteria is the product itself and how can we present our products to the public.”

He noted that based on current market trend, those working in the financial districts tend to stay nearby, giving its project an edge over others.

In slamming assumptions that THP does not have the capacity to compete in the real estate segment, Azizan said the company’s ability and success was proven by its real estate projects in Australia, where it owns and manage three properties.

“If we can be successful in Australia doing residential products and compete with international firms and come up with attractive designs, then there is no way we can’t do it at home (Malaysia),” he added.

In fact, TH Properties clinched three awards at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2017-2018.

Its award-winning projects were Bay Pavilions, Sydney, TH Hotel and Convention Centre Kuching and the Islamic Complex Putrajaya.
